Agnes M. Lindsay was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts on August 11, 1870 (Agnes Morton Snow). She married Edwin P. Lindsay, who predeceased her in May 1925. They owned a summer home for many years in Bridgewater, New Hampshire that they referred to as "the farm" located at the Uplands, Whittemore Point on Newfound Lake.

Mrs. Lindsay passed away on February 16, 1937.

"Her life was marked by a quiet generosity, seldom equaled. Through others she gave generously to every community project, and many individual needs. Perhaps no better tribute could be paid to her than the fact that those in her employ remained her faithful and interested personal friends."

As stipulated in her Will, a Trust was established. Agnes M. Lindsay Trust left a great legacy . . .

Agnes M. Lindsay's Will provides in part as follows:

"All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate . . . I give, devise and bequeath . . . BUT IN TRUST, NEVERTHELESS . . . to be held, managed and invested by said Trustees . . . for any charitable, educational or philanthropic purposes . . . having in mind my interest in the education of poor and deserving students from rural communities, my interest in the relief of suffering and my interest in child welfare . . ."

The Agnes M. Trust supports a number of health and welfare organizations for health projects, oral/dental health, special needs; blind, deaf and learning disabled, elderly, children's homes, youth organizations, youth and family services, homeless shelters, and food pantries to name a few.

The Trust awards grants for capital needs; capital campaigns, building renovations, equipment; computers, furniture , etc.

This Trust also supports Summer Camps and Summer Enrichment Programs.

The Agnes M. Lindsay Trust also supports community colleges, and a limited number of four-year colleges and universities through scholarship funds annually to the deserving students from rural communities.
